研究人员使用了从 40 名死于 COVID-19 的患者身上获得的尸检样本,对从多个部位采集的样本进行了基因组分析,包括肺、心脏、肝脏、肾脏、最初过滤病毒的胸部淋巴结,以及病毒进入人体的鼻腔。他们发现病毒进入鼻腔的免疫基因通过肾素-血管紧张素-醛固酮系统(RAAS)向下游发送信号,引发细胞因子风暴。RAAS 是一种激素系统,通常会开启和关闭,以帮助调节血压、体液和电解质,它是推动免疫反应过度运转的火花,损害了淋巴结的抗感染功能,并对肺、肾脏、心脏、肝脏和其他器官造成严重损害。在死于 COVID-19 的患者中,这种炎症反应的标志物可以在血液中检测到。研究结果可能有助于研究减轻长新冠影响的疗法,长新冠是 COVID-19 感染后的一种慢性疾病,其特征是各种症状,包括发烧、疲劳、咳嗽、胸痛、心悸、头痛、关节和肌肉疼痛、胃肠道问题等。
